Type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information:

Name of parent and student, phone numbers, address and email address
Name of school, exam board, current grade in English and other subjects
SEND information. This includes specific learning needs, EHCP details, details of any barriers to learning.

How we obtain your personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

To enable us to contact you to inform you of our services and to provide you with online links
To enable us to provide the student with the correct grade and level of tuition according to their needs
To provide the student will well done postcards
To provide the student with a recording of lessons

We use the information that you have given us to tailor the tuition according to the students' needs.

We may share this information with tutors subcontracted to CB Tutor of English or admin support of CB Tutor of English.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Your consent.

You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting Chrissi Berry at hello@cbtutoring.co.uk.

Lesson Recordings

Although all group lessons are recorded, personal information is not shown. Only the tutor and the resources will be recorded. No names or details will be shown through the recording. The tutor may use a student’s name verbally, but this will only be a first name. Recordings will be stored securely in a Google Doc folder (access available via a password on our website or via a link). Recordings will only be shared with those on the course.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored.

We keep names, addresses, email addresses and all other information for the duration of tuition. We will then dispose your information by deleting it from all sites where the information is held.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights, including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
