My favourite thing about maths is that there is often more than one way to solve a problem; my favourite thing about English is language; and my favourite thing about science is learning about the world and how things work by investigating and looking for patterns.

I love travelling and have been to many places in the world - there are still more on my list though! I adore spending time with friends and family. I enjoy sailing, squash and hiking on the moors or the coast. I love going out to see live music, comedy and theatre.

I became a tutor because I find that in one to one or small groups you can quickly form a positive relationship with a pupil, identify gaps and adapt teaching to suit their learning style, which results in pupils making significant progress. I find it really rewarding to know that I am helping and to see a student improve in their confidence in the subject. In the 20 years I have been a tutor, I can honestly say there has not been one session I have not enjoyed, and I am really proud of the success I have had and that my pupils enjoy my sessions.
