I particularly enjoy teaching English because I love reading and creative writing, as well as playing with language. I have written a novel and enjoy inspiring and encouraging others to enjoy English too. Recently I have been supporting Year 10 and 11 students with GCSE English language and literature.

When I am not tutoring, I love reading and writing as well as being creative, which can include drawing, painting or gardening. I enjoy walks with my cocker spaniel in the gorgeous Cornish countryside and I am active member of my local church. I love going to the theatre, particularly to see musicals, and I am a huge fan of fantasy and dystopian films and books.

After teaching in primary school for over six years, I wanted to have a more flexible approach to my teaching, to be able to use my creativity to tailor lessons to individuals or small groups, and to work at their pace, in their time and at their level. Tutoring has brought me freedom and an opportunity to use these skills as well as a greater work life balance with my own family and their needs.
