Private Client Tuition Terms and Conditions

 

1. Payment - All sessions must be paid for in advance. Invoices will be sent half termly and payments must be made at least 24 hours before the first lesson of the half term. If no payment has been made ahead of the date and time of the scheduled session, tuition will not take place. Payment plans can be arranged at the discretion of CB Tutoring & Exams LTD.
    

2. Cancellation policy, including sickness - Holidays must be booked at least two weeks in advance. We only allow two holidays during term time throughout the academic year. All other holidays must be paid for.
   
   Holidays constitute as any absence which is prearranged. As a small business, we cannot offer refunds in the case of a student being unable to attend the session without the stated notice, but we are willing to "roll over" the sessions in exceptional circumstances. For sickness, all cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the session.
   
   In the case of the tutor needing to cancel, refunds will be given, or an alternative date offered.
   
   If the tutee does not attend a prearranged session, the tutor will contact the parent after ten minutes. If there has been no communication and the student has still not arrived within 20 minutes, the session will be cancelled and charged as normal.
    

3. Bank holidays and school holidays - Any sessions due to take place on a bank holiday or a school holiday (as set by CB Tutoring & Exams) will not take place unless the tutor has offered additional sessions. To avoid any confusion, all session dates are on invoices.
    

4. Our tutors are fully DBS checked but we do ask that the parent is in the vicinity of the session whilst it is taking place, unless this is a group face to face session when we ask that parents/carers are able to be contacted via phone if needed.
    

5. The session will last one hour (unless previously arranged, should you wish to talk to the tutor about your child's work we ask that you allow time within the hour to do this or email/message the tutor to arrange another time.
    

6. Misbehaviour, including the use of swear words, racist or discriminatory language or distracting in the cases of the group sessions, is not allowed. We ask that you instruct your child in this before the sessions start. If there are serious behaviour issues, then you will be told your child can no longer continue with the sessions.
    

7. We hope this will be an enjoyable and successful partnership between us and you as a family, but we reserve the right to refuse any student.
    

8. We cannot guarantee your child will receive a specific grade for examinations following tutoring sessions.
    

9. Notice period required is two weeks by either party.
    

10. CB Tutoring & Exams is run as a Tutoring Employment Business. This means CB Tutoring & Exams will provide you with a tutor to meet your requirements. Tutors are hired on a self-employed basis and are paid directly by CB Tutoring & Exams.
     

11. If your child attends group tuition, all lessons are chargeable, including term time holidays. We can offer this service based on filling the spaces, which is why we cannot accept an individual lesson cancellation without payment.
     

12. All deposits act as non-refundable retainers for a specific lesson. This will be indicated on your invoice.
    
    This is non-transferable and non-refundable.
     

13. All online group lessons are recorded and will be shared with other students on your child's course. Only the tutor and the resources will be viewable on the recording, however the tutor may verbally use your child's name. As per our privacy policy, recordings are kept for no longer than 12 months and are only accessible to those with the link. We kindly ask that you do not share this link.
