Meet Our Tutors
Amy - English Tutor
My favourite aspect of being an English tutor is being able to build a rapport with students and then personalising my sessions for each individual's learning style.
When I'm not tutoring, I'm exploring the big outdoors with my husband and two children. I also love writing, reading and gardening to feed the soul.
I became a tutor because I wanted to share my knowledge and expertise with smaller groups and explore new ways of helping young people reach their potential.
Danielle - English Tutor
My favourite thing about being an English tutor is being able to personalise each session to suit each student.
When I am not tutoring, I am outside as much as possible. I love walking, swimming and exploring new parts of the South West.
I became a tutor because it offers everyone a flexible way of working.
Dawn - English Tutor
My favourite thing about English tuition is getting to know the students and being able to tailor each session to their individual needs and requirements.
When I'm not tutoring, I'm either scuba diving, hiking or reading - depending on the weather!
I became a tutor so I can share my love of English with students and really help them to do well.
Eliza - English Tutor
My favourite thing about English tutoring is teaching literature. I absolutely love teaching poetry as well as 19th century novels.
When I'm not tutoring, I'm a full-time teacher, mum and dog mum! I also love reading and will try to read a book every day.
I wanted to become a tutor to help students realise their full potential. Not all pupils are confident in a classroom but tutoring gives students the opportunity to ask questions and explore things in more depth.
Hannah - Maths Tutor
Maths tuition gives me the opportunity to focus on one person or a small group with personalised learning, and the opportunity to utilise my creativity when teaching maths. Building on the existing foundations and supporting students to realise their true potential is the best feeling.
Living in a house with five boys, my time is spent talking superheroes, Formula 1, golf and playing Lego. I love to doodle and, if I have time, I love to bury my head in a book.
Maths can sometimes be daunting to people. I wanted to break down the abstract and build the skills needed to be a problem solver. And I want everyone to enjoy the subject!
Henna - English Tutor
For me, the best part about English tutoring is the opportunity to reach out to students all over the world; the chance to devise and tailor resources for individual needs and to see the rapid progress students make over time.
When I’m not tutoring, I like to spend time with my family, going to the gym, reading and exploring the world.
I became a tutor so that I could interact with a range of students and support them to gain confidence in their abilities.
Joe - English Tutor
The most important part of tutoring, for me, is seeing someone grow into a more confident, independent and knowledgeable person. Nothing beats the satisfaction of seeing the student become the master!
When I'm not tutoring, I am living out my dream life as a full-time English teacher, husband and step-father. I love folk music, films and the great outdoors.
I became a tutor because I wanted to use my skills and experience to benefit others - to reach out to students outside of the classroom and find new ways of teaching that can help everyone succeed.
Lesley-Ann - English Tutor
My favourite thing about tutoring is when the penny drops for a student and they suddenly 'get it'! This is such a joy.
When I am not tutoring, I am a professional landscape painter. I also teach yoga and love going to Zumba or socialising with friends.
I started tutoring after Covid when my old school approached me to help students catch up with lost education. It took off from there and I love it!

When I am not tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my children. I love reading, and visiting castles and stately homes. I also enjoy walking my dog and baking.

When I'm not tutoring, I like to spend time with my children and my partner. I enjoy a good Netflix series and I am attempting to improve at golf!
I became a tutor because I wanted to find a better work-life balance and full time teaching was not providing me with enough quality time for family.
